Mission Statement
Inspired by Christ, our common vision at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School is to prepare students to be responsible individuals with traditional Catholic values and a life-long love of learning. As a ministry of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, we provide opportunities for academic and spiritual growth within a secure and supportive environment in partnership with parents, parish, and community.
As part of admission and enrollment, all new students for grades 1-8 will take an entrance exam for placement in courses. Admission is also dependent on being fully vaccinated to the Washington state guidelines. (Click for detail) We do not honor religious, philosophical or personal exemptions for non-compliant vaccination status. - only medical exemption from a Physician is accepted.
Enrollment priority shall be given in the following order:
A. Children who are currently enrolled in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School and whose families are registered and participating members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish (see below) or whose parents are employees of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School or Parish and work 20 or more hours per week.
B. Children whose parent is a current full-time employee of St. Charles Borromeo Parish or School or has a teaching contract or is an hourly employee (working 20 or more hours per week) and are registered and participating members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish (see below).
C. Brothers and sisters of children currently attending St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School and whose parents are registered and participating members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish (see below).
Preference will be given to parishioners based on longevity as active parishioners and the length of enrollment of older siblings.
D. Children of registered and participating members (parent or guardian) of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, with preference given to longevity of participating membership in the parish with all things being equal.
E. Brothers and sisters of children currently attending St. Charles Borromeo School and whose parents are registered participating members of another Catholic parish.
F. Grandchildren of registered, participating members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish.
G. Children of registered, participating members of other Catholic parishes.
H. Children of registered, St. Charles Borromeo Parish member (parent or guardian), but who have not been participating.
I. Children of families of other religious denominations.
All new students are admitted conditionally for the first two grading periods.
Participating members of the St. Charles Borromeo Parish are defined as:
A. Registered in St. Charles Borromeo Parish;
B. Participating in weekly Mass and Holy Days as reflected by the use of envelopes in the Sunday Collection and having established such a record of regular Mass attendance.
C. Current sacrificial giving card on file with the parish (renewed annually in November).
D. Participation in parish activities or ministries.
Any exception to this policy guideline must be approved by the Principal and the Pastor.
2024-25 In-Parish Tuition Requirements:
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School is pleased to give a tuition discount to parishioners that are actively committed to our parish community. Because the parish makes this discount possible by contributing a significant sum to the school every year, every family which receives the, “In Parish Rate,” is expected to observe the following requirements:
Be a registered parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo Parish
Participate in the celebration of Mass each Sunday and Holy Days
Annually renew their Stewardship Pledge by having a current Stewardship Card on file with the parish
Maintain their Stewardship Pledge with a minimum of $20 per week tithing to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic church
Completion of school service hours
