Faith-filled Disciples of Christ
My name is Christa Ishida and I am excited to be a part of the St. Charles Community. I look forward to teaching and getting to know the students, families, and staff.
I have been an educator for almost 20 amazing years, many in Catholic Schools. I come most recently from St. Pats as their 6th grade teacher. I have been graced with the ability to teach a large variety of subjects to wonderful students in multiple states. Learning is a passion of mine and I want to pass my passion on to the students I teach. I love teaching 6th grade - it is a pivotal year for students and I find the challenge and students rewarding.
Learning is the key to growth. As active members of our society, we need to learn something every day. In order for students to love learning and reach their full potential, three elements are necessary; (1) students should feel safe in their surroundings, (2) students should be able to express their natural curiosity through the guidance of academic challenges, and (3) students should be able to tie their learning into real-world situations, allowing them to be aware and compassionate of the community around them. I look forward to working with everyone here at SCB!
